On the edge of a former water mat with a series of ditches and wet meadows lies the Kolomonisberg, also known as Le Grand Schneckenberg, with hiking opportunities through a near-natural forest area. The Mühlbach is fed by the four Sundgau streams Alterbach, Thurbach, Latterbach and Wurmbach. Ponds and ditches provide an ideal habitat for a variety of amphibians. The open landscape consisting of agricultural fields with a number of hedges is a popular stopover for migratory birds.

From the forest car park on the Blotzheim-Bartenheim connecting road, it is possible to walk into the forest (Kolomonisberg) in a westerly direction or into the Kolomonismatten in an easterly direction. At the small chapel "Notre Dame des Champs" lies the starting point for the Mühlgraben circuit (" Circuit du Muehlgraben ") in the direction of Blotzheim. Here you will find a well-signposted circuit with various information boards. It is possible to continue on foot or by bike in the direction of the Hardtwald or the Petite Camargue Alsacienne nature reserve.
The trail is suitable for prams, but not for wheelchairs.
Refreshments
There are hardly any picnic areas on the Kolomonisberg. It is best to take a simple snack with you from your rucksack. There are also a few restaurants in Bartenheim and Blotzheim.
